Description
The i-gel is the innovative second generation supraglottic airway device from Intersurgical.
The first major development since the laryngeal mask airway, i-gel has changed the face of airway management and is now widely used in anaesthesia and resuscitation across the globe.
Made from a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer, i-gel has been designed to create a non-inflatable, anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures whilst avoiding compression trauma.
The protective cradle (adult sizes) and cage pack (paediatric sizes) for standard i-gel are both made from polypropylene (PP) and can be recycled. The appropriate recycling symbol is already on the cage pack and is in the process of being added to the protective cradle.
These laryngeal masks are available in these below sizes:
- Size: 1.0, Neonatal (2-5kg)
- Size: 1.5, Infant (5-12kg)
- Size: 2.0, Small Paediatric (10-25kg)
- Size: 2.5, Large Paediatric (25-35kg)
- Size: 3, Small Adult (30-60kg)
- Size: 4, Medium Adult (50-90kg)
- Size: 5, Large Adult (90+kg)
