ECG Machine
What is a Resting ECG Machine ?
An ECG Machine is a cardiology diagnostic instrument that is used by trained operators in a hospital or medical professional’s facility environment, as well as used in clinics, physician offices, outreach centers, or wherever an ECG Test is performed for ECG acquisition, analysis, and recording system.
What is ECG Test?
It is a non-invasive method of collecting the data about the heart rate and rhythm of the heartbeat, the presence of any abnormalities or irregularities, and the overall function of the cardiac conduction system by measuring the electrical activity of the patient’s heart.
How Does an ECG Machine Work? Or What is the Function of an ECG Machine?
Performing an ECG test with modern advance devices is become very easy.
After setting up an ECG machine according to the instruction manual, which includes machine installation, ECG lead placement on the patient, and entering patient information like age and name into the device, the procedure of taking an ECG test begins with just the press of start button.
The procedure includes:
- Placed ECG Leads detect the electrical signals produced by the heart as it beats.
- The machine filters out noise and interference to isolate the heart's electrical activity.
- After that, the filtered and amplified signals are graphically represented on a display screen or paper strip (ECG Paper) as an ECG tracing.
- Healthcare professionals interpret the ECG tracing to diagnose heart conditions like arrhythmias and ischemia.
