Description
A dust and airborne pollutants filter for tracheostomy tubes that readily fits to current tracheostomy tubes. A fastening mechanism for contacting the outer margin of an open end of a tracheostomy tube is included in the tracheostomy filter. An HME is a humidifying filter that attaches to the trach tube's end and comes in a variety of sizes and shapes. The tracheostomy filter from HME also helps to keep tiny particles out of the trach tube. HME should be changed on a daily basis and as needed if it becomes soiled or damp.
